
One of The Captured Garden’s latest projects involved creating an urban sanctuary on a 2,000 square foot roof deck in downtown Boston. The client had recently moved from a large property and wanted to re-create the feeling of being surrounded by gardens. Even while seven stories above the city.
Our client wanted to break up the hard lines and angles
of the existing space to bring a softer more organic feel to the roof deck. We also wanted to create more privacy for the client,
while at the same time maintaining the unbelievable 300 degree views of Boston Harbor, the Zakim Bridge, and the Bunker Hill Monument.
We began by dividing the large, overwhelming space
into more intimate, welcoming “rooms”. Custom planters were built for each room to define and divide the spaces.
